La Pera Projects x Urvanity presents Karen Ösp Pálsdóttir

In our first special collaboration with Urvanity Art, La Pera Projects showcases artists Lía Ateca and Karen Ösp Pálsdóttir in a hybrid presentation: physical and digital.

For this digital booth, we are presenting a selection of recent works on paper and paintings by Karen Ösp Pálsdóttir (1992, Reykjavik, Iceland) who lives and works in New York. Pálsdóttir continues her interest in female portraiture and the botanical world in monochromatic oil compositions. Most recently, she has been delving into studies and technical applications of cobalt blue pigment. The artist transfers its subjects to the canvas through a brushstroke that gives clues of her technique and infuses her portraits with an almost human dimension.

Karen Ösp Pálsdóttir graduated in 2013 from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Her work has been exhibited in national and international galleries and featured in various publications such as New American Paintings, Create! Magazine and Hyperallergic.

If you have any questions or are interested in the works by this artist, please contact Blanca or Clara at info@laperaprojects.art
